How Large is the Set of Disjunctive Sequences?
نویسنده
چکیده
We consider disjunctive sequences, that is, infinite sequences (ω-words) having all finite words as infixes. It is shown that the set of all disjunctive sequences can be described in an easy way using recursive languages and, besides being a set of measure one, is a residual set in Cantor space. Moreover, we consider the subword complexity of sequences: here disjunctive sequences are shown to be sequences of maximal complexity. Along with disjunctive sequences we consider the set of real numbers having disjunctive expansions with respect to some bases and to all bases. The latter are called absolutely disjunctive real numbers. We show that the set of absolutely disjunctive reals is also a residual set and has representations in terms of recursive languages similar to the ones in case of disjunctive sequences. To this end we derive some fundamental properties of the functions translating a base r-expansion of a real α ∈ [0,1] into α .

Complexity of Disjunctive Sequences
A sequence over an alphabet Σ is called disjunctive [13] if it contains all possible finite strings over Σ as its substrings. Disjunctive sequences have been recently studied in various contexts, e.g. [12, 9]. They abound in both category and measure senses [5]. In this paper we measure the complexity of a sequence x by the complexity of the language P (x) consisting of all prefixes of x. The l...

ABSTRACT Estimation of mineral resources and reserves with low values of error is essential in mineral exploration. The aim of this study is to estimate and model a vein type deposit using disjunctive kriging method. Disjunctive Kriging (DK) as an appropriate nonlinear estimation method has been used for estimation of Cu values. For estimation of Cu values and modelling of the distributio...

Fuzzy set theory has entered into a large variety of disciplines of sciences, technology and humanities having established itself as an extremely versatileinterdisciplinary research area. متن کاملGeneralisations of disjunctive sequences
The present paper proposes a generalisation of the notion of disjunctive (or rich) sequence, that is, of an infinite sequence of letters having each finite sequence as a subword. Our aim is to give a reasonable notion of disjunctiveness relative to a given set of sequences F . We show that a definition like “every subword which occurs at infinitely many different positions in sequences in F has...
